Reel Women Fish Mary River System
The 2003 Reel Women Barra Classic was held on 5th & 6th September. The catch and release tournament fished Corroboree Billabong and Shady Camp on the Mary River System approximately 130kms East of Darwin, heading towards Kakadu.
The Reel Women Barra Classic is a gentle introduction to fishing for ladies who are inexperienced, and a mighty challenge for those handy with a rod and reel.
There were several categories of awards champion team, champion independent team, champion angler for longest fish caught.
The festivities each night included karaoke, live bands, screen shows, mud crab racing and the traditional mud crab-tying tournament.
Gourmet meals were provided each day and included a 2-course dinner each evening. The base and competitors home for the three days was the Bark Hut Inn. View photos of the 2003 Reel Women Barra Classic here . . .
