2004 REEL WOMEN BARRA CLASSIC
HALCO GIRLS CLAIM VICTORY
Fish N 4 Chicks, Flicken Floozies, Barra Divas, Sydney Slashers, Brissy Babes and Mad Keen Fishing Queens were just some of the 64 teams that entered this years Reel Women Barra Classic.
The tournament held on the Mary Rivers famous Corroboree Billabong was well attended by 248 female anglers. This year saw an increase in interstate ladies competing with teams from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Mount Isa, Broome and Kunnunarra. In total, 58 interstate ladies participated in this year’s tournament.
The Bark Hut, located 130km East of Darwin was the official base for the two days. Although this was a fishing tournament, other activities included whip cracking and the traditional mud crab-tying tournament.
