REEL WOMEN BARRA CLASSIC

reel women barra classic fishing eventThe Reel Women Barra Classic was established in 2002 by keen female angler Emma Cartwright who thought it would be a great opportunity to involve other women in recreational fishing. The female friendly fishing Classic is now in its ninth year and attracts hundreds of women from not only the Northern Territory, but right across Australia.

Reel Women Fishing Classics are designed for everyone. Whether you are a novice angler or highly talented with a rod and reel, the Reel Women Barra Classic is designed to meet your needs.

A team consists of a minimum of two anglers and a maximum of four anglers. You can enter with a male skipper to help you get to where the fish are or if you are confident in your boating and fishing skills you can enter as an all women independent team. There is an overall Champion Team but we also recognise the efforts of the ladies that have developed their fishing and boating skills to fish independently and have an award for the Champion Independent Team.

New teams are always welcome to participate. If you are keen to fish but do not have a boat, we can help you find a skipper with a boat if need be. The Reel Women Barra Classic is not just about fishing. Bring your tackle box, rod and reel but do not forget your sense of humour. We know how to have a good time. Just remember – Wombats are a protected species.

If you would like to enter a team in the 2013 Reel Women Barra Classic, or you have questions, we are more than happy to help and you can email info@reelwomen.com.au
